Bring your tired lawn back to life with our Maidstone lawn renovation service.
Very few lawns are beyond saving. If your lawn is fairly level, we should be able to transform it at a much lower cost than re-turfing by renovating it. If your lawn is looking tired, thin, patchy or weedy, we can offer a lawn renovation service at a lower price than re-turfing the area.
Often due to excessive ground compaction, thatch build up, lack of aeration and nutrients, heavy wear and tear, and the natural process of grass plants dying over time, lawns can struggle to thrive and lose their vitality and overall health. Especially with heavy clay content in the soil means water and air struggles to penetrate the ground once it has become compacted.
Other factors such as poor surface drainage and heavy shade can lead to moss, which in turn smothers the area and prevents even more water and nutrients reaching the roots of the grass. If the grass is struggling to grow healthily, weeds will then overtake it, also smothering it and competing for nutrition, further reducing the amount of grass in a lawn. Over time these factors make the grass worse and worse, and eventually this leads to a tired, rough looking lawn that makes the whole garden look poor.
By treating the causes and also fertilising, top dressing and overseeding your lawn, we can revive your lawn and make you proud of it. A lush, vibrant green lawn will be the focus of your garden and the envy of your neighbours. Our renovation process won’t give you the instant, ready made wow factor of laying new turf, but you should see a dramatic transformation over 6-8 weeks during the growing season.
We recommend using our lawn care services as part of the ongoing maintenance of your lawn, this, along with regular mowing at the correct height, will keep the health of your lawn improving all the time. Typically we will treat broad leaved weeds using a targeted herbicide, then once this has taken effect return to heavily scarify and aerate the lawn. It can then be fertilised, top dressed with a dried sand/ loam mixture, and then over-seeded. This will introduce new grass plants in a perfect growing medium, with the seed mix chosen to suit the specific environment and uses of your lawn.
We can incorporate more shade tolerant grasses if needed, or heavier-wearing grass species for family lawns. All you will have to do is water the lawn to stop it drying out, and keep off it as much as possible for the first few weeks to allow the new grass plants to establish.
